League of legends developer Riot Games has just finished a trio of what he calls “medium -range updates” for Swain, Olaf and Taliyah, but the study already has more in mind for additional champions. Riot mocked a lot this week by saying that he was working on this type of updates for “some more champions”, although we still do not know who those updates will be for. These are added to several other types of reworkings that are already known to be on their way to some champions, as well as a totally new character we hope to see soon.
Riot August, the leading designer of Champions for Liga, talked about the middle -range updates of which Riot has been talking during the last weeks before his recent releases. He Liga the designer said that more plans will be shared in the future, but that Riot was not yet ready to talk about which champions would receive these updates of medium reach.
The community usually calls them “minirenovations.” These medium -range updates imply changes in parts of the champions kits that do not modify their general game style, but rather modernize their skills and soften some complaints. Taliyah’s medium-range update, for example, kept intact all the basic skills of the champion while she allowed her to do her more with her worked and reinforced the anti-monity aspect of her team. These are different from the playability updates that in general equip the champions and are also different from the visual and gameplay updates that completely modify visual and gameplay elements.
Although we still do not know who these updates of medium reach will be, the good news associated with this type of updates is that, in general, they do not take long to be published after they are revealed, at least not according to what we have seen so far. Taliyah’s update, for example, was completely detailed on April 27 and launched two weeks later, on May 11. That does not mean that all medium -range updates will move so fast, but it is a very different period of time from what players expect from larger updates such as Aurellion Sol, Skarner and UDYR.
Leaving aside the bounces, the buzz in Liga right now focuses on a new champion, Bel’veth. Riot revealed the first kinematics of this void jungle this week that has left the players wanting more. Whatever this champion is able to do, we can count on seeing playable on the PBE servers first before going to the game live.
